Solid Granny Square

Granny Square - Treble Crochet (TR)

A solid granny square is more compact than a classic granny square since it doesn’t have as many gaps.

At first glance, these crochet diagrams can look very similar. But, there are solid granny squares with open corners and solid granny squares with no gaps at all.

These crochet motifs are worked in rounds without turning.
But if you want the motif to look like treble crochet worked in rows, simply turn the work after each round.

Each motif has six rounds, but you can make more or fewer rounds as required for a larger or smaller motif.

You can see the Crochet Symbols chart on the Crochet Diagrams page and also other motifs to make.

Solid Granny Square - 2 colours

One of the features of granny square is to make a colour change in every round. However, there are other funnier possibilities.

By changing colours several times during the same round, you can achieve different designs.
