Pattern

Work 6 double crochet (dc) into a magic ring. Continue on rounds following the pattern from the bottom to the top and from right to left.

Rounds 6-11 are all 30 stitches. And they form a strip of 30 stitches by 6 rounds that can be easily decorated.
If you want to make the flat egg in one colour follow the instructions below.
But if you want to decorate it, you can follow the grid patterns to make different decorations.

Round 1: MR: 1 ch, 6 dc, 1 ss. (6)
Round 2: 1 ch, 6 (2dc in 1), 1 ss. (12)
Round 3: 1 ch, [1 (2dc in 1), 1 dc] x 6, 1 ss. (18)
Round 4: 1 ch, [1 (2dc in 1), 2 dc] x 6, 1 ss. (24)
Round 5: 1 ch, [1 (2dc in 1), 3 dc] x 6, 1 ss. (30)
Round 6-11: 1 ch, 30 dc, 1 ss. (30)

Follow the grid pattern if you want to change colours. Round 6-11.

Round 12: 1 ch, [1 (dc2tog), 3 dc] x 6, 1 ss. (24)
Round 13: 1 ch, [1 (dc2tog), 2 dc] x 6, 1 ss. (18)
Stuff firmly the egg.
Round 14: 1 ch, [1 (dc2tog), 1 dc] x 6, 1 ss. (12)
Round 15: 1 ch, 6 (dc2tog), 1 ss. (6)

Fasten off, leaving a tail of yarn for closing.
