These pumpkins set are made with rows of half double crochet worked in the back loop only. The small one needs 16 stitches by 24 rows and the large one 24 stitches by 36 rows.
Each pumpkin starts as a rectangle and then is join together and cinched around the top and bottom to make a ball which is then squishing into a pumpkin shape (see diagram).
Small Pumpkin
Before starting, leave a long tail of yarn of about 15 cm, to sew the pumpkin later.

Row 1: 2 CH, 16 HTR. (16)
Row 2-24: 2 CH, 16 BLHTR. (16)
Continue like this until row 24.

Finishing
Sew one side of the pumpkin with a single stitch all the way around and close the hole by pulling tight. Fasten off.
Stuff the pumpkin and sew the upper side in the same way as the bottom.
Sew the button to the base, but from the top, squishing to give it a pumpkin shape (see diagram).
